How to prepare your property ready for a virtual tour

- Make sure the house is tidy and uncluttered. Open spaces always look cleaner on a screen.
- Make sure you remove any personal photos or place them out of sight as these will be seen on the tour. This may also apply to posters.
- Move any pets out of sight should you not wish them to be seen.
- Lighting is a very important factor. If you have any rooms that are a little dark, make sure there is adequate lighting. This may mean replacing the light bulbs you normally use for higher wattage bulbs. (360 degree tours look much better in a well lit environment).
- If any rooms in the house have the sun shining in directly, make sure that this can be diffused if necessary with the use of blinds or curtains etc.
- Small rooms/spaces. If there are any small rooms to feature on the tour, make sure there is enough room in them to take the photos. A tripod will need to be used and so enough floor space will be necessary to place this. Having as little in the room as possible will also make the space look bigger.
- For pictures outside the house use the same rules as inside the house. This may mean moving bins etc out of sight, especially if the garden is a main feature of your house.
- Room usage. Making use of rooms and purveying ideas of what rooms can be used for is always a good selling point. If you have a small room that could be used as an office or study, it may be best to show how this room can be used. This can be done by adding a desk or pc to the room.
- Security systems. If your house has a security system that you would rather not be seen on the tour, make sure you let us know so that we can remove it from any pictures after they have been taken.
